The RCP includes 2 streams of research.
Research conducted by Academic staff and focusing on the Program Parameters 5 in the RHMT program framework: Rural workforce development, Rural training strategies, Innovative rural service delivery models, Health issues impacting on rural people, Improving the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as well as collecting and maintaining data on rural workforce outcomes.
Research conducted by students in the 3rd and 4th year Longlook programs who encouraged to participate in structured research projects. These projects focus on clinical governance at their rural site. Projects are informed by rural clinicians and administrations on locally identified clinical quality improvement processes. Students are supported by rural researchers to complete projects and assist in analysis and dissemination of results.
