Australian Doctors International are currently seeking volunteers for deployments starting in late January 2019.
Volunteer Medical Officer
The ADI Volunteer Medical Officer works as part of a multidisciplinary team providing
clinical and preventative healthcare services across remote health centres and aid
posts in Western Province. The patrols are conducted by boat or four-wheel drive and
last up to two weeks staying in local guest houses, villages and health facilities. The
primary focus for the ADI MO is to build the clinical capacity of rural health workers
through case-based and group training whilst on patrol.
Volunteer Health Project Coordinator
The Health Project Coordinator provides logistical support for ADI’s rural
outreach health patrols and healthcare worker training program. Priorities include
providing support and assistance to ADI in-country volunteer doctors, regular
reporting to ADI Sydney office on projects, working to ensure financial
procedures are followed, and building ongoing relationship with in-country
stakeholders including New Ireland Provincial Government.
