Statistically, Kingaroy is very much an average Australian town. While on the surface Kingaroy looks like the typical country town, underneath hides an eccentric and imaginative social scene. For example, the Kingaroy Peanut Festival is a biennial event that is as quirky as it sounds. The festival is held over a weekend in September and features competitions, peanut tossing, ping pong ball drop, a street parade, food and market stalls, helicopter joy rides, amusement rides and live entertainment.
